Meet the speakers


Sally Rugg is an activist, digital campaigner, author and speaker. Sally was the Executive Director of Change.Org, for two years, where she supported ordinary Australians to make the changes they want to see in the world through collective, online action. Sally also worked at the forefront of the campaign for marriage equality while Campaign Director at GetUp, which she wrote about in her critically acclaimed book How Powerful We Are.


Marc Daalder is a senior political reporter based in Wellington who covers Covid-19, climate change, energy, primary industries, technology and the far-right.


Nevena Spirovska (she/her) is a community advocate with a passion for contributing to and enriching LGBTIQA+ communities. She has dedicated herself to for-purpose work and is highly engaged with grassroots movements, notably as a Co-Convenor of the Climate Five. Currently the Co-Convener of the Victorian Pride Lobby, Board member of Thorne Harbour Health and more.


Amy Parry is a media measurement and evaluation expert, with 10 years experience in providing best practice analysis frameworks and service to some of the world’s largest and most complex organisations. She is now part of the Research and Insights leadership team at Access Intelligence and uses tools from across the group to provide an Insights service that allows PR teams to take action based on data driven recommendations.
