John Croll has been active in the media industry since 1982 and was appointed Chief Executive Officer and a Director of Media Monitors (now iSentia) in 1999. Prior to his appointment, John held sales and operational roles with Croll Communications and Media Monitors. John is a former Executive Vice President of FIBEP, the International Federation of Press Clipping Bureaus and is a currently a Director and the Asia-Pacific Chair of the International Association for the Measurement and Evaluation of Communications (AMEC). John is also a member of the Public Relations Institute of Australia and the Institute of Company Directors.
In addition to his Industry appointments, he is a Board member of the Australian Paralympic Committee since 2008, a member of the Media Advisory Board for the Salvation Army, Eastern Region and a Director of the Australian Science Media Centre. He was also the Media & Communications Director for the Rowing World Cup in Sydney in 2013.
Nimesh has more than 15 years’ experience as an executive in the media and internet sectors, utilising experience gained working across Australia, UK and many parts of Asia. Much of his experience has been gained in growing companies. Before working for iSentia, Nimesh was global CFO for pioneering social networking site Friendster. He was also Finance Director at Fairfax Digital for seven years, playing an instrumental role in navigating the company into the world of online publishing and transaction businesses. Prior to that he worked at Dell Computers in the UK, at Arthur Andersen and Ernst and Young. He holds a Master of Business Administration (AGSM), BCom with Merit (UNSW) and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
For the past 17 years Cameron has worked in sales, marketing and general management roles for market leading multinational media and information services companies, with significant international experience having worked in Australia, the United Kingdom and Asia. Cameron has been with company since 2007 and has been an Executive Team Member since 2008. He joining as State General Manager of Victoria then moved to Asia to set up and lead our operation in the region as General Manager of South East Asia and was Chief Marketing Officer prior to his current role. Cameron holds a Bachelor of Business from Swinburne University of Technology majoring in Economics and Marketing, and an Advanced Diploma in Direct and Interactive Marketing from the Institute of Direct Marketing in the UK.
As Chief Executive - Australia, Sean is responsible for overseeing the delivery of services to 2,500 Australian clients. With 13 years’ experience working in the media intelligence industry, Sean brings a strong client focus to the Australian business. He has extensive client experience across the corporate, government and public relations sectors and previously held roles as the Country Manager for New Zealand, Sales Director at Asia Media Monitors in South East Asia and State Manager in New South Wales. Prior to working in the media intelligence industry Sean worked for the Australian Sports Commission and Sydney Olympic Games Organising Committee (SOCOG) in event management.
The founder of MediaBanc Group, Alan Lim, completed his MBA and BS in Marketing from the United States and started off his career in the Client Servicing department at Asatsu Advertising (M) Sdn Bhd. Soon. He became a director of the agency, and also worked at Asatsu International in Tokyo, and with Marketing and Management Consultancy firm - Pacific Forum Group of Companies. He started MediaBanc in 1997 forseeing a growing need for monitoring of advertisements in print and electronic media. Alan’s favourite expression and philosophy is "Information is king" and he has built MediaBanc into a leading media intelligence provider operating in six countries with more than 300 employees.
Eden has over 20 years of operation, branding and marketing experience. He specializes in the social media and digital marketing, serving top-brand clients across the region. His engagement with social media started while he was involved in managing an on-line MMORPG game business, before joining the Brandtology co-founding squad in 2009.Eden held senior brand and marketing positions in Hutchison Telecom and Hongkong Telecom/PCCW where he pioneered quantitative analytics in studying brand and customer dynamics. Eden holds a MBA from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and also completed an International Executive Development Program in INSEAD, France.
As General Manager, David has overall responsibility for iSentia's operation in New Zealand. He brings a strong customer focus and a deep understanding of the communications and marketing needs of both the public and private sectors, where David has operated in senior roles over the last 20 years. David has worked in or consulted to a range of New Zealand's leading organisations including, NZ Post, Meridian Energy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Telecom, NZ Army, ACC and the Ministry of Emergency Management. David was also General Manager of brand agency Maxim Group from 2000 - 2007.
Terry has been in the media monitoring industry for 23 years, having founded a small press clipping company in Melbourne, Australia. His company merged with iSentia in 1992 and since that time he has worked in a variety of roles spread across our many offices, including the past five years in Asia, and most of that in Mainland China. Terry is by profession a Mechanical Engineer but has spent most of his career in non-engineering roles, including 10 years in Sales and Marketing with Exxon Mobil. Terry's goal in China is to ensure that iSentia is the preferred and most respected supplier in the industry and he is working to ensure that our products and services are the most comprehensive, timely, and accurate available.
With over 22 years in senior management roles in ICT, Joe De Battista has strong technical, governance and commercial experience. Over this time he has developed key strengths in change leadership, strategy, financial and partner relationship management. Prior to joining iSentia in 2003, Joe held several positions with the SGS Group (A global testing and verification organisation) in Australia during the early 90s, progressing to SGS Australasia and then a global role with SGS Group Management in Geneva.
Lane has worked in product development and strategy for iSentia for almost five years in total, and was Group Product Strategist before joining the Executive team as Chief Product Officer. He oversees the team that develops all our digital platforms, including mediaportal, newsboost and slice. He has over 15 years’ experience in channel strategy and development, working for major retail brands like American Express and Nokia and business to business providers such as Borland.
Helen Thomson is a senior Human Resources professional with over 20 years experience in business redesign and culture change. She specialises in creating pragmatic, commercially driven solutions and has worked across diverse industries including education, hospitality, publishing and media. She joined iSentia as Executive Director, Human Resources in 2012 and is based is the Sydney head office. Prior to joining iSentia, Helen was Vice President Human Resources Asia Pacific for Reader's Digest where she had the opportunity to spend time living and working in Asia. She holds a Business degree from the University of Southern Queensland majoring in Human Resources.
Euan Fisher has been involved in the media intelligence and marketing industry for more than 15 years. Currently, he is Executive Director, Group Platform Strategy and Inovation, where he oversees the continuous improvement of all systems and processes that support iSentia production workflow in all of its markets, having previously set-up departments and worked for many clients throughout Asia. He also worked for a short time in Chicago for a technology consulting company. During his time at iSentia, he has overseen the Analysis product and service in all markets in which the company operates and grown the Analysis department from 20 to 50 full time staff. He holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honours and a Master of Arts by research from the University of Queensland and a Diploma in E-Business from the Australian National University College.
John has nearly 20 years of international media, marketing, content and publishing experience and is responsible for the strategic direction of the marketing and communications functions of the organisation; driving innovative strategy, concepts and content across all platforms and developing the iSentia brand. Before working for iSentia John was a lifestyle magazine editor and newspaper journalist working in Adelaide, Sydney and New York including for Men’s Health magazine and at the New York Post. He attended Adelaide University where he completed a Bachelor of Arts with a politics major.
